Akshirmish, I agree. I'm having trouble getting properly exposed shots with just on cam flash. Any tips?
 
Problem is, when you are using the one on cam flash, if the fish is at an angle (like yours in the pic for example) then the head is darker than the rest of it's body, so unless the fish is slightly facing you, then it will always be like that. Also if you can't edit the flash brightness I have been known to cover the flash a bit with tissue paper to dim it, although it's a bit of a makeshift solution.

Makes a lot of sense. I will be picking up at least one flash unit soon so I'm anxious to try with better lighting. Thanks for the info.
