I finally found a delhzi (Draco) hess only a little bigger than my baby albino sen (Luna). while observing him in the guppy tank I had a doh moment as I saw draco try to catch a guppy 3/4 his size.
both of these two will be able to eat every single fish in that tank inches before they are big enough to join Spike I seem to have three options
1. leave um be and risk the livebears, and the female betta
2. get another ten gallon just as a growout
3. wait till I get paid by uncle sam and just buy the 55 gal (75 if I can) and move spike, my abk, the gouramis and my Raphael cat to the big tank and move my little guys to their old tank
currently leaning toward number three

I have pics of my new guy

I think you should wait and get a 55g because thats what you eventually will need and should just get it over with ;) also you'll notice they'll grow alot faster knowing they have extra room.

yeah thats probably what I'm gonna do barring financial breakdown but between the stimulus package and my refund I should be able to get a decent set up I want a 75 .
spike seems bigger every time I look at the tank lately...
any advice on a filter(s) for the larger tank?

i like option 3 but what size tank are they in now

Hey, I don't know how much you have to spend, but, I just bought a 75g after pondering it over for a month or two (I was going for 55g).

I got a whole setup, 2 filters, heater, substrate, canopy/cabinet and a 36" compact florescent light. All this for about $1k. The aquarium store I go to gave me a bit of a deal because I was spending so much. I looked around a while too and was prepared to spend $1500+ for the same setup sans compact lighting. Maybe ask your local place to see what kind of deals they have for you.

Dunno if this helps you out, but, I spent the extra $$ just to get the 75g, I think it'll be worth it in the end.

after looking at my local both the fish stores and the pets i think I can get the tank, stand and hood for around 4-5 hundred I am also watching the classifieds and craiges list to see if I can find a larger one or a cheaper one ...
current tank is only a 20 but every one has room to swim and the nitrates stay low under 20 with a 10% once a week with only the topfin hob filter that came with the tank but I still want a larger tank now looks like option three it is.
Spike is growing pretty quickly anyway
