got this guy about a month ago and been trying to find an id match with no luck any additional info would be nice as well i've kept sveni cinta and belly crawlers before but other than that not much crenicichla experience

Hard to tell from those pics but it looks to be a lugubris type. I would guess it is a sp. Venezuela. Where did you get it and could you get clearer pics maybe?

It actually looks like a race of Cr. johanna. I'm blanking on the name at the moment however.

here are a few more pics hope this helps and if it is johanna they're fairly rare right? what do they normally sell for I got this one for $20 one of my lfs didn't know what species so I threw out a number and they said sure

$20 is a good deal. They're not rare but they aren't terribly common either.
