Rescued this little guy at the not-so-local-LFS today, from the jaws of a huge rtc (literally)
He/she is 7", and i'm really hoping it's a male, so it can be a future mate for my 14" midas.

However, my gut tells me it's a female.

What's your thoughts?

Good save! No way to say on the sex without some good vent shots

Yeah i think so too :)

We were standing by one of his 300gallons talking about his incredibly huge oscars, when suddenly a 30" rtc grabbed the devil right infront of us.
The guy literally held the rtc's tail and wedged the "little" devil out of it's mouth with the net!
After that he told me to take it home for 10$, so i thought i wouldn't pass a 40$ discount because of a few minor wounds :)

looks like a neglected female midas/devil

I think so too.

She is already starting to color up nicely and is glassbanging the crap out of the hospital tank.
Wounds have almost fully healed already, without any meds used, except good old clean water.

when she's back to full health she'll go into one of the larger setups, and then hopefully in a few inches time go to one of the aggressive setups.

She should do fine with other agressive guys once she is 100%.At least mine always have :)

When I brought home my guy, he was that color. Pale. Then he colored up and he was like a light bulb in the tank. Really cool to look at.

Yeah i know how hardy these "guys" can be. Problem is my big guys are up to twice as large, and 3-4 times as heavy as the girl, and as we all know, these guys are not known to play nice all the time :)

Good to know man. Had my doubts for a second, but seeing her recovery and personality i'm confident she'll be a real treat to watch!
