Male is doing very well, showing aggression towards the female sometimes, thinking of separating them, no damage done to the female but she is very dark in colour and spends most the time hiding in a pot, no eggs yet, tank is clean and all water perameters are perfect, any tips to encourage breeding?

Personally I would recommend breeding flower horns to another fish species to increase their poor genetic pool, a Cuban, marbled convict or a good quality Texas would be decent choices, then line breed for traits u like

Yes she might be in her breeding dress and her being in the pot is a very good sign. Go a large water change with cooler water about 5-6 degrees cooler.

Works like a charm lol

I did a 50% last night and a gravel vac, pH is a little high though, probably around 7.8-8 need to fix it, is it better with or without gravel? And should I still do some mirror play even when trying to breed?
