New pick up

First fish I've gotten from Predatoryfins. And while I have given pause to purchase from them I am pleasantly surprised. No real communication so I can't speak in that regard but my fish came in healthy and well packed. Makes me really regret not pulling the trigger on those Lithodoras when he was selling them for a steal(ouch it really stings now). Anyway here's my new Yarrelli. Haven't had much luck with these guys, my other fish for some reason always found them too tasty to not steal a bite or 3 or four for that matter. Hopefully I have better luck this time around.

Thanks kno4te. Yeah Goonch are one of my all time faves, just like I said I've had no luck with them. And yeah, like you I really wanna try a Suchus. Last time I saw one it was on Wetspot's list and it was there for quite a while. I was catching a lot of flack for how much I'd been spending on fish so again I hesitated and failed to pull the trigger when I should've. I was hawking the page daily and I refreshed it one day and it was gone.

I've been keeping an eye out on Wetspot's list ever since but haven't seen it again. I may have to message and see if they'd be willing to bring them in again.

I also recently picked up a Goonch, but got a smaller one from Aqua Imports.

You mention you other fish trying to take bite out of em. I currently have him in a 250gal and his only tank mate is a slightly larger rtc hybrid. I can't tell if the RTC is just happy to have a tank mate or if he is trying to size the Goonch up (for to eating). He hasn't shown much aggression, but since the Goonch arrived he's gotten much more active and wants to hang out near the Goonch all the time (like right ontop of him). Thoughts?

It's got me worried so I've put up a barrier to prevent any unfortunate mishaps. He didn't seem to appreciate that too much either, but better safe than sorry.

I'd say yes, better safe than sorry. If the goonch could fathomably fit into the hybrid's mouth, or it's a close call, then it's not worth the risk.

I have some RTC/Achara hybrid but they're not in the same tank as the Goonch and are smaller. I'm sorry to say I'd be worried though especially depending on how great the size difference is. RTC and shovelnose if it's such a hybrid are both pretty predatory and will try to eat surprisingly large fish. And if it's an RTC/Achara I'd also worry about possible aggression. My two RTC/Achara display then engage in a couple of quick snaps and circles till one flees. So if they perceive the Goonch as a threat to food or territory they may also attack them for that reason.
