I am up to 6 for now. All the 2 inchers I had died. So I figure I wont get any until they are close to 5 inches from now on.

Damn that sucks. Yeah, even the most seasoned cichla keepers lose bass small and large. I think its better to lose a small bass then a 15" bass. But any who....im glad you didnt give up keeping bass.
