After looking thru a few LFS's Looking for Oscars, none really stood out and some I felt bad for so I went to another one and they had a 50g with about 50+ of the voratious little buggers in there. I watched them for a while and had the LFS owner encite a feeding frenzy (really cool to watch) b/c they looked kinda thin and I wanted to make sure they were eating. The tank looked healthy enuff (no signs of disease) so I picked out 2 of the fistier ones. I had a hard time getting a pick of the tiger as he seems a little camera shy after acclimation (too soon i guess). But he has red striations all along his lower mandiable that run up onto his gill plates which is really cool looking but you cant see them here :( Anyhew Meet Conan (tiger) and Neptune (red)

Nice. I had a red that looked almost exactly like yours; I like when the white fin edging is really pronounced, and when the base color is really black rather than the faded brown you often see.

Babies 'r always Cute! give 'em 3 months 'n they'll be pushing 6"+ ! Nice O's though.

Thanks guys! Im sure they will fatten up soon and start to grow like champs! I havea jar of NLS pellets, Hkari gold, half pound of kirll, earth/blood/meal worms and squid in the freezer and I keep veggies on tap for them in the tank. Gonna grow em' BIG :headbang2

you definitely have some beautiful oscars there and with that food they will def be pushing 6" in NO time! hopefully i can find a little tiger with that much red when i finish redeco my tank:)

at less than a year mine is at 12" you should def see some pronounced growth soon!
