thanks, i couldn't believe they were longnoses when i walked in the room. it was like a dream come true!

oh these fish are 3yrs old. they were in a 75gal for a long time, then when i got them they were in a 120gal wide and now they are in my 120gal wide. they originally came from forest lake pets. i already got bitten by the 17" one with the large spots. it got its lower jaw stuck in the net the guy used to get them out of his tank. i had to open its jaws and get the net out without damaging its jaw, then it bit me. i just grabbed them with my hand covering there eyes to move them. i find they are calmer if you cover there eyes. i have a few more pics on my phone of them in the move that i will post after i get them on the computer.

they aren't to thin are they? they look way thin compared to my other gars. though i am sure that wont last long.

also don't mind the "futurama" in the background. that show is to damn funny!

They don't look too thin to me, but you'll get them bulked up in no time, though.

On a side note, you're watching the mermaids in the lost city of Atlanta episode, huh?

ok, i was a little concerned since they are so long and skinny. soon i'll be saying i need to put all my gars on a diet. my large florida needs one bad.

ha, yep thats the one. in the reflection of the tank you can see were bender is stealing amy's umbrella to make a hook to put the manwich on. in the vid bender gets harpooned in the *** by leela after he said "harpoon my ***".

now we are on to the "popplers" and to parts unknown.

These aren't the best pictures, but they give you a good idea of what my one longnose gar looked like just after the ice thawed on the pond earlier this year (early March). It was around 16" at the time and still had a tiny bit of extra weight on it from before it stopped feeding.

I'm not a fan of the bigger longnose gars that one will find in the aquariums of Bass Pro and Cabela's as well as some zoos; they tend to be way overfed by the looks of them and seem to be disproportionately fat.

Thanks; they're a little heavier, but not by much by the looks of it.. That one and its brother/sister are in my big pond now with my two outdoor alligator gars; they looked to be close to 24" the last time I saw them back in the Fall before they settled in for the winter.
