got a couple new pickups today on my trip to lincoln.

First i swung by petsmart to get some black sand, but they were out :irked: so i took a look at their fish, and i decided to get a male and female convict from there, and i had the perfect ones picked out, a nice 100% sure male and a very colorful female, but as soon as the net touched the water they all scattered and started losing color fast.....so it was very hard to tell male from female and i'm doubting i got a male right now as the one i think might be a male has a couple orange scales on its belly....but i have to say the female is the deffinition of a female convict.

next stop i hit up The Fish Store, and they had some kribs so i was looking at getting a male krib for my lonely female....but all of their tales were torn so i couldn't use my normal train of thought "pointy tail = male, rounded tail = female" but i'm pretty sure i got me a male, granted he just came in a couple days ago so he needs some bulking up.

after i grabbed a krib i noticed they had some belly crawlers, so i of course snagged one of those guys, and i'm glad i finally did as he/she's my first pike.

i don't have time to take any pictures right now, so i'll wait till atleast tommarow and hopefully they are releaved from any stress by then and i can get good pictures.

Nice pick ups, waiting for the pics. Btw, what's a belly crawler? Haven't heard that term before.

fish that stay on bottom most of the time. Like pike cichlids

Male kribs lack the crimson stomach. Females have it. Same as rams.

not true. males won't have quite as prominant crimson on their stomachs, but they still have it there, granted that since the kribs i was looking at just came in a while ago so no male kribs should have been even close to the breeding mood when they get the crimson.

i saw bellycrawler and sveni both in the tank, and i knew info on the bellycrawler, but not the sveni so i went with the bellycrawler, i'm glad i did as even though he doesn't have quite as nice pattern, i still like the little guy

pics of my pick-ups will be up today

hate to triple post....but i CANNOT get any pics of my new fishies...just too small with too crappy of a cam.
