New pickup, short-bodied Texas

I bought this guy recently after falling in love with him at the LFS. He's looking pretty good for the first day in the tank. I'm pretty sure it's a male, there was a slightly longer female in the tank as well, and it had a dark dorsal spot. He's around 4" and thick as hell.

I'd say yes, texas sub adults of similar coloration that I've seen (basing his pattern to corelate to his estimated size) are usually at least a good inch longer than that. He's also got a very high forehead for a young texas.

Very strange indeed never seen or heard of one, but I'm always learning. nice looking Tex should color up nicely in a cpl days.
