I've managed to score a few really cool things lately. The rarest...fry from Yssichromis sp. "Blue tipped." I spent quite a bit of money on the first 4, and was given the second. They are still really tiny, but I'm really hoping for good things from them. I don't have any pics yet, because one Vic fry looks a lot like another. Just little silver fish, but I'll be documenting their progress.

I also have a colony of juvenile Xystichromis sp. Kyoga Flamebacks. I picked up 13, and will work to get a good colony from this. I know there are at least 7 females.

The one colored male. This was within 2 hours of release into the tank, basic coloration.

That is nice! Woohoo on the pickups. I am very excited. I hope you can start breeding the blue tipped, so you can send me some fry. Also, I would love some fry from your kyoga group once they start to breed so that I can diversify my gene pool. :D

Nice pics Lady!!!! They are looking good, glad you finally got some females.

The "blue tipped" are among the rarest of the rare. My hope is that the group I have grows to produce tons of fry. I'd like to spread these fish to people interested in breeding them as far and as wide as I can. As far as I know, I'm the second person in the US to have these, but don't quote me on that. They actually kind of intimidate me, since they are so rare, I am so scared of making a mistake with them.

Very nice pickup. I'm sure you'll do fine with the blue-tipped. Keep us updated on them...:grinno:
