Hey I thought I'd share what I found at my lfs store last week (while ignoring the project I'm supposed to be finishing).
Baby Jaguar, named Rocco:

I've wanted a Jaguar for a while now, and I've finally got the means to deal with one. He's super shy so I can't get any good pics of him (or her).

And then I picked up an 8" fire eel. My little sister named him Slim. They had a bunch of them for $12 so I couldn't resist. Now I just have to figure out what to do with him when he gets full size. :nilly: btw any ideas what to feed them at this size besides bloodworms?

And one of my loaches decided to pose...

Both are eating and seem healthy. The eel is especially funny. He's already figured out that 9pm is bloodworm time and starts nosing around the tank.
I'm done avoiding my homework now. Going back to work (Stupid college)

i loved the jag ... i made the same as u wanna a group of jags but they are high priced here so i got a few fry from a local breeder in fact i got them for free :D lol

and they are the same size as urs .. was wondering when they ll be ready to pair off and breed ?? 8 month may be ??!

the fire eel is so great :D

nice pickups:)

Nice pick ups, lovin the fire eel..

At that size, you can also feed live red wrigglers (small earthworms often used as bait). My guys just loved them, and have long since graduated to much larger earthworms (night crawlers). Also, they love their krill and market shrimp. I just cut to size and down the hatch it goes. I can't remember how long it took them to eat the krill. It could have been immediately, or over time. Either way, they were getting a mix of blood worms, mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, krill, and red worms. They are fat pigs now. I got my guys just a tad smaller than yours a little over a year ago. One is now 18" and the other is about 16". They live with a 24" fire eel, as well as a whole slew of others, and they all get along great. I actually find that they seem to be more active when I keep them together, like they feel more secure. They all have their own homes, and during feeding time, they all come to the top for hand feeding. I've never ever seen them eat a live fish. They have all had the opportunity, but it seems like they'd rather get hand fed all the other goodies. Have fun with all you new little guys.

Thanks for the suggestions! My little guy wolfed down the bloodworms the day after I brought him home so I don't think I'll have trouble feeding him. I'm going to try mysis shrimp tonight too.

I can't imagine him being more active. Slim is either up and cruising around the tank, or sitting in his cave with his nose peeking out. He's not nearly as shy as the baby jag.
