Still waiting for these guys to pair up so I can get them into their breeding tanks! There is 1 male Gold JD, 1 male BGJD, and one small male EBJD(I'm not expecting him to pair up since he is a lot smaller than the ladies:naughty:) There are 4 BGJD females in this tank for the 2 big boys to choose from. Also please excuse the particles in the water, they had just gotten done with their bloodworm/krill feast lol

This is my favorite shot so far

Enjoy!

Looking good, and the first shot is very nice too:) Did you vent those females? from what ive learned, females have blue worm pearls and streaks under their chins and the males lack markings there? maybe im wrong and its just the angle of the pics that are throwing me off. but it would be frustrating to try and get a pair out of a group of males..

As you say it could be the angle the pictures are taken at, but i agree, they look male to me.

Nice JD's ;)

I haven't actually vented them but I'm fairly certain that they are female. One is a proven female I've had for a while. The other 3 females came from someone I trust and he said they have all laid eggs before. They do have more blue on their gill plates than the pictures show. I'll try to get some better pictures of their pretty faces tonight. Thanks for the compliments!

Here are some more(hopefully better) pictures of the females. There are a few of the males too, can't leave them out!

In this picture the male is in the middle. The other two are female. I find that the females have larger spots under their eyes as well as having blue on their gill plates.
