hi all. I had been meaning to pick up a couple of pike for a little while and having spotted a pair at my LFS during the week i went to pick them up toda.y Sadly, they had sold the other which was a bit annoying but i decided to get the last one anyway. I initially thought Venzuala but since getting it home it's colours have come out and i'm not sure. it's made friends with my little Geo. It's only about 3"-

Appologies for the rubbish pictures. Usual problems AKA camera phone.

Ven

ok having done a bit more reading regarding the ven. can i jsut get peoples opinions on the following stock and general compatibility, baring in mind the apparent growth rate;

2x Hydro. Tat. 7"
Ornate Bichir 10"
Brown Ghost knife 10"
1x Geo. Surinamensis 3" (will be getting more but a recent set back has left me with just the one)
cren. Venezuela 3"

I'm hoping that the majority of inhabitants will be ok but i worry that the ven. will grow faster than the Geo's. I also know that these guys get relatively large, but after 12", how long does it take for them to hit say 14/16"? The tank is 160g /60"x30"x24"

So far, it's buddied up with the Geo and they happily swim round together. I hope it continues....

It may cause a problem for the geos and the tats, but should be fine with the others

well small update. It has really been good to see the pike and the geo inseperable as they are. Being of a similar size, they have really hit it off and even with the Tat's prowling the tank constantly seek each other out. Both of them actively feed from my hand even when i'm waving the blood worm around. I really hope that as they both grow, they continue to stick together. It is so nice to have a couple of chaps with such a personallity.

Atleast, ones i don't have to worry about them removing fingers....
