new pike cichlid aggression

got a new pike cichlid (2.5")yesterday and a FH too (2"). They both fight and the FH occasionally bites at the pikes sides should i be worried casue it seems like the FH is just pestering him on purpose cause the pike doesnt get pissed unless the FH swims at him.

Is this TOO much aggro

Depends on what kind of pike you have. Some are mellower than others. Maybe hes just building up his flowerhorn hatred, then when it cant hold back anymore it could put down a thrashing on the bothersome inbreed. Probably not though as they tend to be skittish as juvs and nonconfrontational. While Im here where did you buy it at? Im in Laguna Beach and I pretty much know who has what pikes in this area, so I can probably throw an ID at you as well.

Then you either have a juv c.sveni or a c. sp. Bellycrawler. They were cheap, like $6. Be careful though cause I saw those guys last week and they were haggard with ICK. If you should lose the pike for any reason and you would like another that is a little bigger and could handle itself with the FH, PM me cause I have a few that Im raising in hopes of getting a pair, so I have pikes to share. If it looks anything like the little ones I saw there today, its a goner.
I do dive some(not on the tank), but I dont really spearfish anymore, Id rather catch and release on a rod.

well hes doing great right now. His ich is gone but the FH has a little on his forehead but a tiny bit. I got the temp on high but the fish are doing great. The pike ate 3 rosy reds and a bunch of FD brine balled up. His tummy is still fat. But the FH and him are starting to stay away from eachother and if they are close to eachother try and ignore one another.

Hey man can u hook me up with some directions to any other GOOD tropical fish stores.... like im sure u know where the best one is. I always go to tongs but i wanna find some other places. And ya i fish more than spearifshing. I work as a deck hand for daveys locker and newport landing.
