Ummm lucius????

Spots to irregular to be lucius, plus up a little too high.

Its still a young pike, but it does have the suborbital triangle coming in, plus the irregular humeral blotch, so its possible saxatilis or variant of such.

I think PimaFix is just external.

Thanks!
Yes I did catch these pikes.
Peanut power, The picture with the two pikes wrestling has two species in it the bottom is the species that i am trying to ID and the top is an alta. THEY ARE ADULTS! The alta will grow another inch or so but I am pretty sure the other one won't grow much larger. Sorry I dont have better pictures. The first pictures is a juvinile.
Thanks again i apreciate your input.:D

Peanut power, what does a suborbital triangle mean?

The suborbital triangle is the little black triangle underneath the eyeballs. It varies in size and shape depending on species.

That really is such a neat-looking pike!! Congrats on being able to catch your own pikes in nature!! So jealous.......... :D
Do you ever try fishing with hook and line in those ponds and small streams flowing into the Rio Negro?
