new pike

new pike... just picked up a either wallaci or notophthalmus at shark aquarium. not sure what it is. will post some pics in a bit once it gets acclimated. shark aquarium had about 100 of them if anyone is interested.

also ive never kept any of the dwarf pikes before. hes in a 20g long planted tank right now. will he likely need a bigger tank and if so what min size?

sorry the little guy was super spooked last ngiht and wouldnt come out. i saw him swimming around this morning before i went to work. pics after work. promise.

here it is. i believe its a notopthalmus because of the red ring around the ocelli on the dorsal fin. also threw in my apisto cacatuoides which the pike has decided he doesnt like. unfortunately for him i like pike way to much.

I like the colors on that guy!! Very nice. Any idea how big he'll get?

i would gess about 10" max
you could probably keep him in a 40 breeder for life
