I bought some new pikes this weekend and as usually not much help at the LFS about types. Any help would be appreciated. The first group of shots are suppose to be Wallacii and I am hoping the second group of shots is Xingu I not Venz. Here we go:

First group:

Second group ( these are small about 3 inches or so):

sorry second group looks 100% venz to me.

Am going to guess the first group are sp. 'Orinoco' ... mostly becuase that is what I believe my wallacii are ... see if they came from colombia or guyana, if you can find out that will help. And check the male's dorsal fin for extensions. I doubt noto's would be sold as wallacii, but I suppose it could happen.

They are definitely not regani or comps. thats for sure! :) That red around the dorsal spots indicates either notos or wallaci. Or like darth said, sp. 'orinoco'. Great score! :D

As for the other pikes, 100% sp. 'venezuela' there. Sorry man. Come up to Columbia, I'll take you to the LFS that has several sp. 'xingu I' for sale. :) Confirmed by yours truely! :D

Second pikes are Venezualas

First pikes are hard to tell I would say Wallaci Or SP. orinoco DEF a great score

The best vittata I have seen have come from Rio Salto, in Uruguay. Start there. ;)

Or you could PM Rapps, I doubt he still has some, but you never know. Sometimes he has stuff thats not on his list.
