i have just bought 2 rbp and i was just wandering if there is anything out there that i should know they are about 1- 2 inch and i am a very excited new owner please help alos is it ok to get live plants with out the rbp picking on them??

live plants will be great with your rbp's. make sure they are tough though because as your p's grow they may accidentally uproot weak plants. When my caribe were that size i fed them frozen krill, and beefheart. I would definately try and get them used to pellet food. My old rbp's would eat cichlid pellets from the surface which is a great way to get them all the vitamins they need to show their best colors. they will be 6" before you know it. good luck with your new p's.

I'm new to it too, I have 3 1-2" and ive had them about 2 weeks and they have grown noticably. I feed them bloodworms havent really tryed anything else. I have a Plectostomus in there with them and they havent bothered it. I put some rosies in there to help clean up all the crap off the rocks and they help alot!!! Only problem is my RB eat their fins( good for them i hear..) and they die bcause they cant swim. They are cheap though i get mine at 7 cents. Good luck man

You may want to grab another rbp. Two isn't a good number. Congrats on the pickup.

the rbps will use the live plants to hide you should fill your tank with live plants wid some driftwood as well.

How big is the tank? The set-up sounds good! Get a couple more p's!
