Whatuup P section?

My Sanchezi's powerhead is very much outdated. I'm looking to purchase a new one.

My Sanchezi is in a 55 gallon, with plenty of driftwood, rocks, and plants. 50% water changes MINIMUM weekly.

Question is what type of powerhead is ideal for a 55 gallon piranha tank?

I've heard that it is a good idea to purchase the powerhead a size above what your tank is, specifically for piranhas (because they prefer the heavy current). Is this true? If so/not, any recommendations?

Thaaanks

I like the - Marineland Maxi-Jet Powerhead 1200 - , Good bang for the buck .

Water movement along with oxygen and you have a recipe for success .

Is it easy to use? Quiet? How large is it? and is it meant for a 55 or in proximity to?

Its not the most Quiet power head I ever had ,,, , If U run it in a circulation pump mod it will be sufficient enough IMO for a single fish in a 55 along with all the other filtration .

The more cure the better for piranhas..... Get a koralia 1400 that would be perfect

Yeah that was the one that I originally stumbled upon. Both of the suggestions received fairly the same review, in terms of ratings. The only thing that is deterring me away from the Maxi-Jet Pro Aquarium Pump is I've read that cheaper plastic is used; the longevity isn't up to par (which might explain the price drop).

I agree . If you decide to go Maxi-Jet you will not be hating . It is a fine enough pump . A big Plus I give the Maxi is its versatility in positioning the head in just the rite position you desire .
