I just traded my 16-inch silver arowana in. He was starting to habitually jump out of the tank during feedings, when I'd have the lids open for an extended time. One of my felines almost walked up on him, while he was squirming on my floor. I walked in the room and saved him from being a cat snack. I'll miss him, especially since I got him at 5 inches and grew him out. I traded him for a 7-inch Platystomatichthys Sturio, alias: Zorro Catfish and Sturgeon Catfish. The Zorro is a real beauty, with his long, trailing streamers. I'm sitting there observing the reception of the new fish by his tankmates, when one of my 9-inch Florida Gars sizes up the Zorro. The Florida slowly follows the Zorro around the tank. This is typical behavior for my 2 gars. I observe this for the next five minutes. Assuming all is well, I walk into my office and ignore the tank. I come back in 15 minutes later and notice a small gash on the Zorro's ventral area. So, I sit and watch. After a few moments I see both of my Gars in the midst of a 3-way, stare-down with the Zorro. It actually reminded me of an old John Wayne western. Then one of them suddenly makes a mad dash and hits the Zorro in the same area as the first wound. So, I take the Zorro out and place him in another tank. I'm applying salt. I just thought I'd make mention of this little incident. I'm glad I caught it before they double teamed the Zorro.

That sucks. Hopefully you can find a good spot for him, those are really good looking cats.
