I just got a Chocolate Pleco and a Rubbernosed Pleco. Do you think they will be fine together in my 29 gal? Should stay pretty small. I shall have pictures when I can.

I should also say this is my first time of getting a different form of pleco rather than the common pleco.

I just got my first "non common" also, but its a royal. I always see him. Kind of hard to feed with an Albino Channel but hes been alive for 2 weeks. lol. Good luck with them.

Depends on what you got as a chocolate pleco. The common form is a leucistic form of a common, pterygoplicthys species. Another plec that goes by that name is a rhino pleco. Both of these will get too big for your tank however.

29 gallons no way they will get far to big

Where are you getting your information? The more common chocolate can attain sizes of 20" or more, and the p. scrophus, although only attaining a size of 11", will be too cramped in a tank that small due to the life style of plecos, and the output of detritus.

As you can see there is a way that a chocolate will outgrow a 29 without any problem.

well when they do outgrow they can move onto my 55 gallon. Right now they would get eaten up if I put them in there now. Right now they are both about 1 1/2" - 2".

My rubbernose is spotted . Could I possibly have a goldnugget at all? Or is it common for rubbernosed to be spotted?

Post a picture. Chaetostoma species have wide mouths compared to all other species of loricariids.

If I am reading this correctly, orballa4life said that the fishes would grow too large for the tank.

Punctuation makes all the difference. Too bad there wasn't any. Kinda funny how a comma can change the meaning of orballa's sentence to opposite ends of the spectrum. = )

I'll try to get one, as soon as i put him in the tank he sat for a second then darted. I got a pretty crappy pic that I will put on here sometime.
