Being as these are open swimmers, and pack hunters, and do best in schools.
They can grow very big (50cm is not far out), so I would recommend a minimum 7ft x 3ft x 2ft tank for adults.

Minumum??? im 2ft short then i have a 5ft x 2ft x 2ft will this be too small for adults?? thought they only grew to around 30cm aswell

2 of them have died :( seem to have some discolouration near the caudal fin and anal fin any ideas on what this could be??

Hi.
I have seen many Pleuro gain 50cm. 30cm is way off if kept correctly.
It is the size, the fact that they are best in groups and the activeness that IMO merit them a 7x3x2.

As for yours dying, Pleuros are NOTORIOUS for suddenly dying at small juvenile stage.

i had 8 theres only 3 left!!! i have taken one back to the shop with a sample of the tank water, and the guy said he seen nothing like it before and my waters fine, they look like they have ulcers on them but there not red in colour there black, everyone in the shop was confused, they have said they will take the rest of them back and give me a full refund so that might have to be the decision

sorry to hear this. Pleuros are indeed very susceptible to sudden death syndrome. I've raised about 12 from juv stage and lost 4 to sudden deaths. I dont know if this will help but when i kept them i had them at 28C, ph of 6.8, low light, and somewhat high current.

Just a theory but i only lost my pleuros to sudden death when i had them in low flow tanks. I found that when there was higher current, they were more active ate more readily and seemed more healthy.
