Well, went to 3 LFSs and i was really looking for pikes, a female krib and a delhezi.

i found a nice female krib (and it paired up with my male already!) and i found one pike that i couldn't get.

in the polypterus category, they had senegals, lf senegals and palmas palmas

well i only picked up a 3" senegal, but i'm hoping they get some delhezi soon.

anyway, i was wondering if these prices were ok or not?

small (3in) senegal - $12

large (8in) senegal - $28

longfin senegal (6in) - $44

small (4in) palmas palmas - $20

i know they are probably overpriced, but its the cheapest i can get. maybe i should ask about ordering delhezi's.

no, no pics, but it deffinately looked a little different then the senegals.

small (3in) senegal - $12 petsmart $5.99
The rest seem reasonable

Can you describe what it looks like? It could be a palmas polli in which case I think that would be a really good price for one.

darker then the senegals, but it didn't have the marbling pattern of the polli's.

if it was a polli i woulda snagged one up quickly.

i really don't like going to petsmart for fish since they aren't the best at taking care of them, and i know how good most lfs's are with their fish, so i feel it was more then worth it to spend the $12

If it didn't have the marbled pattern it was a member of the palmas complex
and if it had no pattern it is probably just a brown senegal.Senegals color can vary from brown thru green to grey -Anne

well i was pretty sure it didn't have the marbling pattern, but there were 3 of them and they were darker and i'm pretty sure their shape was a little bit different.

hmm... my buddy's got a shop and he's got some tiny palmas pollis that look like senegals at first glance. probably stressed. he also placed some tiny endlis there with the palmas. same thing happened. lost most of their markings.

so maybe the palmas in ur lfs are palmas indeed. but with very pale markings.
