I was wondering if there was any type of cichlids that could I could keep in my 20G I know that's pretty small for a cichlid but it would be a grow out tank since I planning on getting them as a juvenile. I would like a cichlid that has a personality to it :D any ideas?

Thanks,
Justin

What are your water perams? Hard, soft etc.. Let's start there and that will narrow down what you can keep, if you don't want to mess with your water. If your just looking for general suggestions, Microgeophagus ramirezi come to mind. Rams have lots of personality for a small package.

BTW, nice to see another Justin in the house!! :welcome:

Thanks for the welcome I can get you those stats soon, could you give me "store names" for these guys? Make it a little easier for my LFS to order them for me!

Thanks,
Justin

Any of these

Apisto can be expensive and hard to find (I see you live in FL, only once I saw one at a LFS in miami and it looked like hell lol)

The rest are cheap and fairly common, convicts are everywhere and can be as cheap as $2... Blue Rams I once got for $4.99 and firemouths I got 2 for $5

Listen to this man. Imo go With a single Male con tons of personality and pretty small. The best of all American Cichlids fits in a 20g

Thanks so much everyone I'll let you guys know what I decide to go with, if I can get a Apist. I will but I'm going to see which my LFS can order.

Thanks,
Justin
