My new project is to keep any fish I can in the smallest tank I possibly can without being cruel. I'd like to point out if anything gets out of hand they will be put in a larger aquarium. I'll be starting with a small Dovii for the 75g & see how long I can keep him in there. My bucket is getting ready for water changes haha!

Sounds just like an excuse to not provide a proper sized tank :thumbsdow

weird project.... what are its goals?

I was thinking maybe a pair of tiny shell dwellers in a 5 gallon, Or some shrimp in a 2.5 gallon. Some other sort of nano setup. Not a decent sized sa/ca in a tank.

There are a bunch of smaller cichlids that can live very well in small tanks. But attempting to keep cichlids as large as Dovii in a 75 is only good for growout purposes. I just hope the bigger tank that you mentioned is large enough to house your fish once your project is over.

bored or something? lol

i only worry that with a fish like a dovii or any fish for that matter that grows quickly in the right circumstances, you could end up damaging that fish for life .e.g. spine curl. lets face it fish aint born in a litltle pond then moved into a big lake when they get abit bigger.
