Saw some puffers at a LFS and they looked cool so i picked one up i'm pretty sure its a target puffer which species exactly i don't know they had them labled as " Red eye puffer" they had them in brackish water i assume because they told me there a brackish fish either way target puffer or red eye there freshwater so i'm slowly changing the tank to freshwater right now it hasn't eaten anything i figure it needs time to settle in is there any thing else i can do to get it to eat

thanks

yeah i was hopeing it would be a fangs puffer all the target puffers are cool it would be really cool if it was an abei it does have a wierd sheem to its eyes like in some of the pics of abeis i can't seem to get a pic that shows this

turned the lights on this morning and it was dead :( not sure why it wasn't doing to we'll to being with it didn't swim much mostly just sat on the bottom breathing heavy also i did kinda ruch into it i didn't check how much salt was in the tank at the LFS i thought if i introduced him slowly enough it would be okay we'll i'm gonna call the LFS and see how theve been keeping them and see if i can get another they were getting sold kinda fast hope they still have some first time i've seen these guys before

That was a FW Fang's puffer. They have the red spot on each side, near the caudal fin.

dang i wan'ted that kind of puffer i'll try to get another first i'll see if the LFS has any kind of warranty on there fish

It took me about an hour and 15 mins or so to acclimate him but i think that may have been to fast i'll see if the LFS can tell me exactly how much salt is in there tank

Their also not 'hunters' but the 'hide and snatch food' type.

if you do get another one, provide a cave. I think this will help it to reduce it's stress level.
