New Pumpkinseed Tank

As I write this, I am on the drive home from a weekend camping trip on Shepard Lake in the Idaho panhandle. In the trunk is a cooler with seven pumpkinseeds in it. They are all around three inches, and will be kept in my 40b tank until they are pellet trained. From there they will be moved to my 48*30*18 inch tank. Pics to come.

They were caught with a hook and line with maggots as bait.

Maggots and earthworms, hopefully some frozen food I made from prawns, beef heart and peas.

So pretty! I have a few in an outdoor pond but they always hide.

Been considering some panfish in my 29 gallon. My male sailfin molly died, he was most vunerable to fin pecking.

Nice set up. I look forward to more pics. I had a red breasted sunfish, but he was alone so kind of boring. I imaging it is interesting watching them interact. You should post a video.

Beauties ! Always loved those & also Greens. I have always had luck with a small hook with the barb mashed flat so it didn't damage their mouth, & market shrimp or worm for bait.
