Will a solitary Red Bellied Piranha shoal wth silver dollars while still under 1/2 inch in size. Would he also be ok in a 180gal tank with large cichlids. Oscar, Motagense, Jack dempsey etc...

My boyfriend bought a small red bellied piranha the other day. It is in a 10gal quarinteen tank with baby convicts at the moment. He is happy and eating but very skittish.

I had planned to take down my 55gal but will need to keep this running if the rbp does not work in my other tank.

I would not trust it with small silver dollars for very long, I would also not trust larger cichlids with such a small fish.

Do not mix the red with anything. If your putting it in the 55 get two more reds and you should be fine.

The 8 dollars are between 1 1/2 and 6 inches. I was going to grow the red belly to an inch or two in the 10 gal then introduce him to the dollars....... but

The three in the 55 sounds like the best idea, my boyfriend will be delighted...haha

i agree the reds need to be in a seperate tank.
my friend was keeping 3 3-4'' reds with a 12'' pacu and they made the pacus life hell until he gave it away

i had p's with oscars before

its a 50/50 kinda thing
