I recieved a purple sanchzi from aquascape but it isn't displaying any purple yet ,kinda just looks like a red sanch, i had it since tuesday, could it be that its stressed or would the purple show regardless, h cant be that stressed cuz it eats, im starting to get frustrated:confused:

I don't think it's ever going to be the color of purple kool-aid, it just sort of shows a violet hue. It's probably stressed. It takes a couple of months for piranhas to settle in. Most P's are wild caught which is one reason they are so skittish. Feed a good diet, lots of shrimp, no cyrprinids, earthworms are good, etc, and wait at least 3 months. If it's still not showing you may have a problem on your hands, but as it is, I wouldn't worry about it.

what are your water parameters?

I think it's still stressed. does it eat only at night when the light is out? or it eats in front of you?
substrate has effect on their color too since they will try to blend into the surrounding.
maybe dim your light a bit, looks very bright in your pics. that might help. give it time.

Diogenes, why you always beat me to it?? I thought I was the first to response the click submit and damn you are one step faster. LOL
