on an icecube.....
i got a male motoro about 5" over a week ago, hes in my 125g with a good size DIY wetdry, PH 7.8-8 temp 80 i dont know the other params as i cant realy see well enough to use the tests but iam sure there fine and its a well cycled tank, he wasnt doing well when he whent in but now is eating blackworms and is vary active, he dosent get the big fat buldge i see on many rays after eating thought, anyway i got a female on wednsday about 4" and shes not doing well, not that active and not eating and skinny, she was eating when i got her from the importer, when i was drip aclimateing her the dripper whent a bit fast at first and even though i dripped her for close to three hours iam wondering if she got Ph shock?
i think the male might be bothering her, he chews on her tail sometimes, and seems to swim over top her a lot for no reason, ive been flooding the tank with blackworms but she dosent seem to be eating at all, she takes it in and chews it a bit then spits it out, ive also tried frozen blood worm wich she was eating before, earth worms, prawn, sccalops, smelt, the male was eating live guppys i put in the tank for jurunese catfish also, its a bare tank BTW so i can look threw the bottom and see just what they are eating.

should i dose the tank with prazi with the female in such bad shape? iam worried it might push her over the edge, yet it might also help her right? also i noticed the male has a light colored patch on his disk its not growing or anything but iam concerned about it

sorry for the long post, iam just concerned sence i dont whant to loose these rays!

Dosing the tank with prazi will only get rid of external stuff if the problem is something internal that won't really help much and since she is not eating you can't really give her any internal meds. I would say after a 3 hour drip that it shouldn't be pH shock unless the pH was extremely different from the water she was in. It could be the fact that he is stressing her out I would maybe try to feed her off of a skewer and see if that will help her. Sorry that I don't have any more info. but good luck and I hope she gets better.

u need to do a full range test first.

it could be a number of things.....

ok i will try and get some test kits and see if someone eles can read them, the water the female came from was PH 6.2 i think, but i dont think there is a water problem as the male seems quite fine,

Get your test results and then I would prazi pro the tank at a 2x to 4x dose for atleast 5 days. I would then try some ghost shrimp shortly after you dose the tank. I have got all of my rays started on ghost shrimp even when all other foods have failed. Describe the light spot on the male, is it fungus?
