new ray seems like its shedding is this norm

my new motorro has a thin film coming off it and not eating it ate the second day on the third day i noticed this film and tried to feed it but did not eat is this normal

check the ph it might be low, if thats ok try using maracyn plus

Check your water parameters, I have seen this from an ammonia spike.

Many fish will slough off a slime coat when stressed by chemicals such as copper or ammonia or by ph changes, it is viscous and looks like they are shedding skin, it is a sign that something is wrong with the water.

did you check the water yet as it seems to be the problem when shedding slimecoat
