So I recently moved house, and first thing was to convert the garage for a bigger tank for my Ray's.

I tried to do it as smart as possible so that will be a nice room with space for a sofa and to chill out in, instead of a fish room. There is an inside door to go from garage into the house.

Tank is custom built of fibreglass, and is 7 x 6 x 3.3ft and has shelves at rear for filtration to sit on. Filtration will then be access from the driveway by opening the garage door.and I have then built a wall between it so that in the room wont heat filters.

Let pics commence.

Pics show what the garage was like before, i had to insulate all walls, build floor and board the walls. I also ran the auto drip fill and overflow plumbing through the wall. Also a mock up of when I first measured out tank size!!!

Filtration is a 300 micron sieve, into external pump, through 3kw heater, then into a bead filter full of k1 micro, then into a DIY trickle tower.

There is a 4" drain in tank which goes into the sieve, then return through two 2" drains through bottom of trickle tower, that goes through the shelf and into the pond.

And finally the tank with led lights fitted to the cross beam, so hidden from view, and the lids cut and ready.

Hoping to fill with water in a few days.

If all goes to plan with no issues then will put in the sand and bigwood etc to make it look a bit less clinical!, then gives few days to get the rays in :)

I love everything about this setup! Well done man. It’s obvious who takes pride in their filtration.

I wish I could find a US manufacturer of fiberglass ponds like this. I would order two right now (literally). Congrats Jez1992 Jez1992 !
