New Ray

I recently got my first Ray.He/She is eating nicely,but the only problem I have is that there is a piece of net stuck to his/her spine.What should I do?try remove it,or leave it till he sheds his spine?It does not seem to bother him/her to much.And from what size can you sex a ray?Mine is about 20cm in diameter .

The piece of net should fall off at some point so I would let it be. In the future use a rubber net when handling to avoid that issue.

Rays can be sexed as soon as they are born. Males have 2 claspers by the tail (small when they are young). Enjoy your ray.
