So I picked up this gem today from the LFS around my house I actually went to look at a leo my husband saw there however I liked this gal she was labeled as a motoro which I have no doubt she is part because of the spot placement however does anyone think she's mixed with anything her spots are whit she's super dark and she's got a pretty thick paddle esque tale

Hard to say. Maybe some marbled motoro in there. Maybe some leo? As far as I am aware beginning Jan of 2017 it is illegal to import pure motoros anymore. According to CITES. Please someone correct me if I am wrong.

Looks like it could be Leo x motoro.
As far as the cities goes, it's illegal to import any rays without proof of origin. It's not that pure or wild motoro's cant be imported, it's just extra paperwork now needs to be done and the importer/exporter has to be cities certified. Which the only ones getting cities certified so far are high end farms in Europe and Asia and high end exporters throughout the world. It's going to be a long time before everyone is up to par. We likely wont see wild rays here in the states for awhile yet.

I do think they changed that. I have attached a copy of the new CITES. I believe appendices III are all banned species.

I love her though I was just curious what people thought she was I got her for like 250 and she devoured tilapia as soon as she got in the tank too so she acclimated well and is very active

She is really pretty! Glad to hear she acclimated well for you! Sounds like you got a great deal on her! Especially since in the ray hobby the hybrids seem to be going for more money!

My daughter slept through the fish store so she didn't know we got her till this morning and she got up and said "mama I love her" she's also high maitnence and is offended when fish stores don't have stingrays.

That just takes your heart F fireballnurse .... you can see she is mesmerized by the rays.. but I guess that's what rays do to us...
