I originally had a LTA in the tank but it began bleaching. After some heavy testing and research I was left with the assumption that my light wasn't strong enough to sustain a LTA on the sand. I removed it and brought it to the LFS for some store credit. I left with a Bubble tip anemone.

The BTA should do ok because it can attach to the rockwork giving it height and additional light. I bought this guy last saturday and so far he is doing well. Unfortunately he moved around to the back of the rockwork and isn't really in a place for prime viewing. But at the moment I guess I'm just happy that he is happy. :D

On with the pics.

Let me know what you think. :D

Looks really nice dude. Thats always my fear with getting a nem too. That he moves around to the back of the rockwork and then you never see him again lol.

Looks good.

Do the Clowns pay any attention to it?

Yeah, hopefully with time he will move back out to the front. If not, I can try and spin the rock so the BTA is in the front but if he wants to he'll just move back again. Right now I'm just glad he is happy and healthy. :D

So far no, the clowns pay no attention to it. I think they are still a little upset about losing the LTA that was hosting them for the past few months. In time I think they will but I'm not going to rush them into anything.

Sweet. All BTA's? What do you have?

I have a larger reef tank - 210 gal oceanic, the 4 I have are BTA, LTA, Sebae, and Green carpet. BTA hosts a purple porcelain crab, LTA anemone shrimp, and the carpet hosts a Fiji Barberi Clown. The Sebae still pretty small but hoping someday it'll host a domino damsel.

if your nem moves to the back wall of the tank and gets stuck in your powerhead it will release nematocst and kill your fish

If you run carbon bags or carbon balls it takes it out of the water. Carbon takes the toxin out of the water. But its not a guarantee tjat you wont lose anything.

it will grow fast. that's good they gave you the rock also, makes it 10x easier to acclimate to your tank that way since it's already happily attached to something. :D

will only be a matter of time before a clown starts to host it :D clowns love BTAs...
