New Red Devil - Male or Female?

Picked up a 7-8" Red Devil at a local fish store for $30. The store clerk think hes a male and I agree with him. I dropped my largest female Blood Parrot in the tank to see how he would react and it looks as if he is trying to court her which further leads me to believe he is indeed a male. What do you guys think?
