New red devil

I purchased it a couple days ago. It's very active, eating well, and moving small pebbles. Of all my other cichlids, this one got acclimated instantly. At 3.5 inches I can tell this fish has some aggression. Can't wait for it get big. Does anyone know the sex of it?

Looks good. Be forewarned, he will get big and aggressive very quick. I just got rid of my beautiful 10" RD, because he was tearing the skin open on my hand(s) during water changes. It got to the point where I was scared to clean his tank......lol.

Yea, it was kind of a sad day. When I took him out of the tank I measured him one last time- 10" long and 2" thick! Mind you, he was just under 6" when I bought him in late August. He was an awesome fish, but it was time to move on. I missed having some color in the tank, as well as being able to aquascape again....lol

I feel you some of that. But he was definitely the coolest amph on mfk.

My rd has almost bit me a few times but he hasn't go me yet. Mines not psychotic aggressive.

You just gotta get used to the abuse...haha.I have a long,thick pvc/rubber glove that I use with my crazy hybrid.I still feel it, but then I go back at him and I think he likes it, like dogs that want to be roughed up

The RD that youre talking about, is that the one in your avatar? If it is, it looks very beautiful. Sucks that you had to give it away.
