Hi
Got 3 new red terrors yesterday ( I think they look a bit pale because they was delivered to me and delivery was over 3 hours late so cold water and not much air but I saved them and they was basically white when they arrived )

I know it’s very hard to sex when they ate this young but I feel I have 1 male and 2 females

the photos below are of all 3, one of each I’d love to know what you all think as I’m trying to get a pair and try to breed them.

let me know your thoughts

They look like they are at that unsexable age/size. I was always under the impression that they needed to be a bit bigger in order to determine the gender.

I agree. A bit bigger and also more colored up would be helpful.
If I had to guess based on this though, I’d say first two are male, last is female.

I did think that but I thought there may have been someone who knew some traits

I’m reading a lot about speckles in the dorsal fin being a male trait but all 3 of mine have this it looks like

( gutted if I had 3 males )

One of the best tellers is that females have a black Mark on the front of the dorsal fin. And the striping, but that is older and only really when fired up.

One of them is a lot more slender then the others which makes me think it’s a female but who knows maybe that one just didn’t get feeding time haha

runt of the litter haha
