Hey guys!

Just got this little guy n wanted to show him to the world (or at least the part that finds it cool)! The lil wolf measures about 4.5" right now and is in a 20g and will be moved to a 90g when hes big enough to be with my 12" Oscar (who is surprisingly tolerant of fish lived with a 2" african cichlid for month before i gave the lil thing away).

By an act of luck the wolf ate pellets right off the bat, so far all it seems to like is massivore and minnows, what else should i feed it? Or is massivore with the occasional live feeder enough? Lastly how fast do these critters grow? I had a mala a while back but i can assume the growth isn't that similar lol.

Nice wolf. I would feed him some tilapia, shrimp, beef heart, and some pellets(carnival sticks and massivore). Just to give him variety. He may be fully grown by a year and a half. Takes much longer to get those 9 inch monsters. Wait till the wolf is big enough to fight if he Oscar. An Oscar may pick on it especially with the size difference.

How long would it take to get to 6/7"? I was thinking of moving him by then, mainly so he would have more room too

This is Erythrinus Erythrinus, not the Erythrinus Sp. Peru.
Feeding pellets and insects is best. Gut load meal worms with carrots to help promote the red. Small live crayfish gut loaded with carrots are also a good choice.
Nice fish.

Nice Ery Ery. I would suggest feeding it some fish fillet as the others have already said. Catfish and talapia can be a cheaper source of filet for your wolf.

I have one other question, my wolf fish was initially a "high fin". But i think the first night something spooked him and he somehow ripped the tip of his dorsal fin off. Does it grow back? Its been a few days and i havnt really seen much change :s. The fish still swims normally though
