I just saw these posts, and thanks for the complements! Based on venting, i think it's a female, but i'll need to look again to see for sure. It lived with its previous owner for five years before coming to me (the pic i posted was Dexter in a 24 inch tall tank) so I think any dye it may have had as a baby would have completely faded by now. If it is a female, i think she's got perfect rose queen color (she's a little more orange than the pic shows, but not much) and i'm raising some Red Dragon x Rose queen fry, so once they mature i'll pick out a male for dexter. If its a male, i can keep him as a pet. either way, the parrot's staying!
