Hey all, i searched around and couldnt find anything on this so i thought id pick your brains. I just purchased a male retic about a week ago, everything is fine behavior and eating wise, but i found some whiteish clear goo coming out of his but and it never came off. Any idea what this could be????? Also, my female retic used to be queen of the tank, swimming all over, and now that i added the male, she stays buried about 90% of the time, what gives???? Opinions are greatly appreciated, thanks.

No clue about the goo, but the female burying could be becuase the male is bullying her.

The male I would guess is only a couple months old at best, it still has the "umbilical" thing on its stomach, I watch them alot and there is no bullying goin on at all.

sorry thought i had that in there but i didnt, the female is 5-6" dw and the male is about 3.5".

it came out like poop, but it was a whiteish clear color and stayed connected

My otorongo did this too when she first began to eat. Maybe it just has not be feed very well. I don't know what it is though but it went away after a week of her eating on a regular basis.

with the female ray staying buried, i honestly think she has to adjust to a new ray, same thing goes on with my female, when ever a new ray is put in the tank she stays buried b/w feeding times...she should eventually come out more
