So I got him the other day and was reading that they can digest wood. Would adding some kind of wood block for him to chew on be a good idea?

Needs soft wood. And it's needed for his digest

I always go to my local lake or river and just find what I like and clean it really good and put it in

I was thinking of going to a wood store and getting an actual block of wood.

It will be to hard and will not have the right nutrients in the wood for it

Umm... I'm not talking about planks. A wood craft store will have a large variety of untreated woods. If hardness is an issue, there are plenty of softer types of wood.

They can chew on Malaysian driftwood. It looks like a L191. Mine eats potato, melon and melon rhine, zucchini, Brussel sprouts, carrots along with the wood.

Yeah just get the softer wood. But they also love different types of veggies

Tried apple today. He tried it but idk if he really liked it.
