Just picked em up today and they are already eating out of my hand :WHOA:
Appear to be very healthy and active. Ate shrimp as soon as they were out of the bag. They should be an interesting fish to grow. They already seem to be a lot less nervous than pure RTC's of the same size, they aint afraid of nothing.

BTW. You where right I dubble checked my PH value and it was slightly below neutral, that might be what caused my RTC's gill-curl =/

Those are so cool and the freakin whiskers are awesome. The whiskers and spotting of a marble, and the stripe throughout the body. Does the tail have any red in it or is it the same color as the body. Nice, fish....

I'm certainly not saying thats the only cause of gill curl but its the most consistant I've found. I've probably curled more RTC gills in my day than anyone :( And low PH has always been present. Funny now that I watch my ph closely and keep it neutral or above I haven't curled a gill in years. :thumbsup:


I got these new guys from Fish Room Plus. They advertise on this website. Great guy to deal with. I paid $35.00 each. He is local so no shipping was required.

I dont think these guys will ever get the "red tail" Their tail looks like its gonna resemble the marble cats. They do have the longer Marble cat whiskers, and have a slightly slimmer body shape than a baby RTC. Mine darkened up quite a bit over night and have a real cool creme/spotted look. Very odd/cool hybrid. I cant wait to see what they look like as they grow............. I may just have to feed them every day now :D


PS.....Don't comment on the ornaments.......Its the Q. tank :D
