Just got a little RTC yesterday (approx4")

I just fed him now his belly looks like he
ate a golf ball. Is this normal? It actually looks
like it could explode if you poked it.

Wow, this section is as almosr as bad as the Cichlid
section. 25 ppl look at this entry, and no one can reply.

I'm losing respect for this site more and more.

i just got one too the other day 4" aswell.. has a 240 to himself at the moment with about 200 1" dovii fry :) ..... food

it is normal. you might want to do some research, better late then never.

nexxus- you should put that cat in a smaller tank to make sure it eats and gets enough to eat. then once it is around 12" put it in the big tank.

Congratulations on the pickup. Speaking from personal experience, RTCs will eat as much as they can get their mouths on. If you're controlling his/her feedings, feed the little RTC a bit less. It's great that the catfish is full but a round golf-ball belly is too much food. Be prepared; when fed that much,t they sometimes vomit and foul the water terribly.

+1

They grow fast man. Its real fun to watch them develop and hand feed(: Im sure you'll have a great time with your new fish. Good luck and congratulations.
