I just got a new female salvini on adoption from petco. She is very brightly colored especially around my now 6" male salvini, her belly n sides get redder than anything i've ever seen. I hope they mate, but I've never mated salvini, only cons, is it harder? or do they go about it the same way as cons?

Most cichlids are very similar to cons in their breeding habits but with bigger fish comes bigger aggression. You should not have any problems if you had success with your cons
