new salvini

Hi all i am wondering at what size will my salvini start defending himself against my convict? hes about 2-3 inches long my con is slightly longer. when ever the con sees him he chases him. i have moved the decor around but that made it worse. i am thinking about taking him out until he is aggressive enough to fight back.

If the salvinii is getting hammered, it may be better to take it out.

In my experience, moving the decor about doesn't really help in a situation like tihs.

My 2.5 inch Salvini just killed my 4 inch Firemouth and is beating on my 3-4 inch Convicts. So his/her aggression should pick up any time now.

tank size is 75 gallon

My buddies did instantly too. Killed 2 Cory cats and beating on a gt that was the king of the tank! Its like 2"

is there any other fish in the tank? maybe a fast dither/schooler will keep the con occupied while the sal adjusts.both sexes of salvinis seem to be tough.but with only 2 cichlids there is a possiblility the con won't accept the salvini

im geting either a green terror or jd next week so i will put the salvini in at the time and let them settle in before the con goes back in.(i took the salvini out until she can defend herself)
