:headbang2 Hi all i just got some carib sea Instant aquarium (all they Had).

It is saying i have to take my fish out of my aquarium.

Is it safe two leave them in the aquarium since they are both about 7" or 8"

Plz help

Rinse it very well in a bucket, until the water is clear. Drain some water out of your tank, as the sand will displace water as it enters the aquarium, turn your filters off, choose one of the following: 1.) Dump sand in 2.) Lower sand to bottom of tank in bucket and gently place sand 3.) Throw fist fulls of sand at the bottom of the tank..... There really is no right or wrong, just rinse, turn off filters, dump sand in, wait til sand settles, turn filters on and you have a sand bottom tank now.

Rarely have I had the chance to add sand to a tank that didn't have inhabitants. Your fine leaving fish in the tank, just wash the sand well. Adding sand washed in cold water will drop the temp about 4 degrees or more depending on the size of the tank. Try running a little warm water over it when done washing to avoid dropping the temp, if your worried about it.

But it has a bunch of stuff in it like bio magnet,d-chlor-it,and buffer pls and the bag it saying not 2 rinsing.

Can you please type exactly what the bag says that concerns you? Why would it say there is a bunch of stuff in it an not to wash it? Sorry that just doesn't make sense to me.

It is saying Instant aquarium pls water conditoners and No rinsing ,In side chlorine nutralizer, bio magnet clarifier ,and water purifying bacteria for cycling.

IMO I don't think I would but its your move

I bought the same sand. I followed the instructions on the bag. It says no rinsing... I ended up with instant chocolate milk.. not instant aquarium.

The dechlor and clarifier are in the little packets in the bag. But the sand is wet, it's packed in water. It's suppose to have BB in it but I'm fishless cycling and it sure hasen't helped any. Since you have fish in the tank I'd definitely rinse it and keep the packets of dechlor and clarifier for later if you need it.

Just rinse the sand with aquarium water so you get most of the detritus and dead BB out of there to prevent your tank from becoming a soupy mess. Once you feel it's clean enough then just slowly pour it into your tank, don't just dump it all in there. It's a water change and new decor for your fish at the same time.
