I've just got my first polypterus, a 6 inch albino senegal and was wondering, how do you know if its had enough to eat? will they refuse food or just keep going at whatever you put in?

what are you feeding cause these lil guys can consume way more food than you can
believe if you let them-Anne

They have good appetites and will gorge themselves. Feed until you see an even smooth albeit full belly on them.

Once it starts bulging in odd shapes they're eating too much.

When you have a community of bichirs, it's impossible to stop one fish from eating too much, but IME, they do stop eating eventually, but that's usually because they can't physiologically fit anymore food into themselves :D

That's a great diet you listed. Your fish will be very happy and healthy, wish you the best, and congrats.

At 6" they can pack in quite a lot. Feed what you are comfortable seeing them eat, I would say. They have big appetites, but it does get them in trouble. You could also feed less, but more times a day.
